Today is International Whale Shark Day - Consider Adopting a Whale Shark
Shark Research Institute field researchers have tagged and/or cataloged more than 1,000 whale sharks. To raise funds for continuing conservation efforts of these gentle giants, some are available for ’adoption’ for a year, or a lifetime. Every whale shark guardian receives a photograph of their shark, a certificate suitable for framing, a fact sheet about the species, and are be notified each time their shark is re-sighted again. All sharks available for adoption have been seen in the past year.
