Chris Fallows

Chris started working with sharks in False Bay, South Africa in 1998 and white sharks in 1991. Together with a colleague, he discovered the famous breaching behavior at Seal Island and founded Apex Shark Expeditions with his wife, Monique. To date, the Apex team has catalogued more than 10,400 predatory events at Seal Island, the largest database of its kind in the world. In addition, Apex has hosted more than 60 international documentary film crews from Planet Earth, Life, Africa, Blue Planet and Discovery Channels, including the Emmy nominated Air Jaws series that is now in its tenth edition. Chris authored the book, Great White, and has co-authored 15 scientific papers. It is Chris’s hope that more will be done to protect, understand and value these magnificent predators and their eco system. He wants future generations to enjoy the wonderful times and opportunities he has experienced with the white sharks of False Bay.
