Debbie Smith, a PADI MSDT Instructor, was instrumental in the complete setting up of top dive centers at upmarket resorts — from mapping and naming sites to full operational status — winning top international awards. Founder of an ecotourism company “Diving with sharks”, she worked in the Seychelles in conjunction with David Rowat, and is currently based at Port St. Johns on the Wild Coast, South Africa. Debbie is also a partner in Offshore Africa, which specializes in sardine run, shark diving & shark conservation. Both companies are involved in diving and shark research along the east coast of South Africa. In 2007, she was inducted into Women Divers Hall of Fame for her contributions to diving, education & shark field research.
